Food Fiesta

Whether a true Mexican food lover like myself or simply a fan of your mum's fajitas, there are some great options in the City Centre which will cater for your appetite. Less common than burgers, pizza and breakfast in Scotland, Mexican restaurants are on the rise. Here are some reasonably priced options in Glasgow.

Topolobamba

Location: 89 St. Vincent Street, G2 5TF

An extensive menu of Mexican food can be found at Topolobamba, and it really is the king of our food Fiesta. Offering both 'Small Plates' and 'Big Boys' you are sure to find something you'll enjoy no matter how hungry you are.

Great options from a Stuffed Chimichanga to a lighter bite with the Crispy Taquitos. Or for those who would like spice, some Jalapeno Poppers on the side.

Located in the heart of many of the restaurants in Glasgow, Topolobamba is always busy! This creates a great atmosphere and doesn't affect the service you receive.

Only thing I would suggest is book first or avoid peak time (like 7pm on a Saturday). If not you may have to wait around in the bar area till a table becomes available.

Fun atmosphere, classic Jose Cuervo Margaritas and good quality food.

Mezcal

Location: 104 Hope St, G2 6PH

Having newly opened in Glasgow, Mezcal is new to the Glasgow food scene. Located right next to Central Station, it's a great choice before you catch the train to the Hydro or simply head home.

Although not a particularly extensive menu, they have several key options which will fit the bill for a bite to eat.

As the name Mezcal suggests (being a Mexican alcohol) they have many great drink options and deals too. With over 25 different Tequila's alone, you'll be sure to have a good time, even if you don't remember the next day!

Although it may seem quiet early on in the week, Mezcal livens up Thu-Sat with a host of different live music and DJ's.

Tacos, Tequila and Techno what more could you want.

Taco Bell

Location: 245 Sauchiehall Street, G2 3EZ

Now this only very loosely squeezes under the term 'restaurant'. None the less, it's a great cheap eat and Mexican food hit. Open from 10:30am until 4am you can go to Taco Bell no matter what time of the day. Enjoy for lunch, tea, post night out or even for breakfast this will definitely sort you out.

With an extensive menu you are open to a range of tacos, burritos and quesadillas as well as Taco Bell's signature Crunchwrap Supreme you'll be spoilt for choice.

If stuck for lunch on a Tuesday, they offer a Taco and a beer or a soft drink for only £2! All of their meals come with a refillable cup so you can sit an enjoy a coke or 7up with no rush to leave.

One word of advice avoid the overpriced, naff desserts, better to stick to the mains.
